"Point Of No Return"--1993

Submitted by Philip on Tue, 2005-08-30 02:38.

So, I have always had a fondness for this gem of a film. It caused me to yearn to live in Venice, CA with a landlord like Dermot Mulroney and assassinate evil infiltrators on the side. Bridget Fonda sports a great bob in that movie. Today, I discussed "The Wedding Date" with a coworker and came to realize that this film also stars Dermot Mulroney. When I asked my coworker who the male lead was, she replied, "Dylan McDermott." I questioned, "What happened to Dermot Mulroney?" She immediately corrected herself.

I have attached photos of both Dylan and Dermot (courtesy of www.imdb.com) so you may judge for yourself which is which. Throw into this a picture of myself trying to look like either actor, and you get something like a Dermot McDermott or a Dylan Mulroney.

I recall your mentioning that! Did you receive any sort of gratuity, because it was inspired casting!!!

I think its best to leave it to others to decide whether it was inpired casting or not.

I am so totally confused. Good work.

As an aside, did I ever tell you I believe I was responsible for Bridget being cast in this film? An assistant to director, John Badham, was renting all sorts of tapes at the store looking for a hot young actress to star in the La Femme Nikita remake. I suggested Bridget Fonda first thing, and I guess it stuck, because after watching about a gazillion tapes of everybody, they cast her.
