POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Traffic Producer is assigned to a Traffic.Com (TCI) Regional Operations Center and is responsible for gathering, writing and dissemination of traffic information to clients and end users utilizing TPN’s Web-based distribution systems. This is not an on-air postion. Methods employed include emergency services monitoring, utilization of aircraft and mobile units, monitoring of traffic cameras and handling incoming calls, including verification of all data. The Traffic Producer routinely works with proprietary software applications such as TIMS (Traffic Incident Management System).

DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES: The producer is responsible for:
• Editing and producing traffic updates which may be used by broadcast affiliates or posted to the traffic.com website
• Dispatching of mobile units on the region’s roadways or routing fixed wing aircraft or helicopters to maximize traffic coverage, as appropriate
• Monitoring police, fire and emergency services scanners
• Organizing and editing traffic information from multiple sources including on line CAD systems
• Interviewing public authorities regarding traffic and news incidents that affect traffic
• Responsible for training new hires
• Accountable for interfacing with TPN software applications, such as TIMS
• Other related duties as required

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates for the position of producer will thrive in a dynamic team environment, possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, have computer literacy, be capable of handling multiple tasks under occasionally severe time constraints and be deadline driven. Candidates ideally will have had prior experience with a traffic information provider or broadcaster and may have done traffic or news producing or reporting as part of that experience. Familiarity with area highways and roads, map reading skills and independence are other desired attributes. Supervisory or management experience is a plus.

Must put in development for financing multiple movie projects that are partly financed under terms. Understanding of foreign pre sales, Sales agents and Producers Reps a must. Private equity helpful, hard and soft money knowledge a must. Some Rolodex with some contacts required. Base expense with % Paid Vacation Health Benefits and Travel.

Ideally this person will have been an actor/actress, or worked in a theme park, presenter or teacher/graduate student and possess superior motivation and presentation skills. We would like at least a 6 month commitment to be able to work weekends, Saturday and Sunday, twice a month for 6 hours per visit. The candidate must present themselves in a professional and polite manner, with a positive and assertive personality.

Job Responsibilities

• Available and committed to at least 2 weekends per month starting early August through end of year
• Each visit will be 6 hours/day
• Capable of making 2 short presentations per hour to an audience in the Home Theater area
• Assist store personnel between sessions with engaging consumers and selling client product
• Participate in paid trainings prior to start of store visits

Job Requirements

• Energetic individual with high level of enthusiasm
• Maintain Professional appearance as well as conduct self in professional manner
• Strong presentation skills. Hourly presentations to Home Theater store audience plus store training and advocacy.
• Actress/Actor/Theme park presenter/Teacher…must be comfortable with memorizing script and delivering client objective/content to audience twice an hour for 6 hours per store visit
• Ability to influence and engage both consumers and store staff
• Ability to work in conjunction with the store’s sales team to achieve common sales goals
• Must have ability to work weekends (Sat. / Sun.) throughout the 6 month program; 6 hours per visit, without restrictions. (Minimum requirement is two visits to store per month)
• Must be reliable and adhere to scheduled times.
• Individual must be able to meet reporting deadlines
• Candidate needs to have internet/email access for reporting purposes.
• Must be able to function independently with minimal supervision.
