Stunt Kitty Films was started in the autumn of 1999 with the idea we'd put our dreams of making movies off long enough while waiting for someone else to give us the big break we were hoping for. Advances in digital technology were closing the gap between hollywood and home movie makers to the point anyone with a digital camera and computer could make a film and the good ones could actually be picked up and distributed through your local Blockbuster. We felt if we didn't take advantage of this fact and start making movies now, we'd be left in the dust again, probably never to catch up.
My idea was this -- we'd make three, short films, each technically more difficult than the last with the idea of learning the craft of filmmaking while building a production track record. We would make no-budget films, so our energy would be spent making movies, rather than raising money to make movies. At the end of the three films, we would have enough experience and a track record to make even the savviest businessman feel comfortable investing in a Stunt Kitty Films' feature production. We're on the verge of completing our second film, The Golem, and have begun out-lining our third and final exercise which we hope will launch us into the world of feature filmmaking.
